google Year in Ads

Google launched its version of the famous ‘Year in Search’, with this animated film reflecting the insights learned from a year of YouTube-hosted advertising. They asked us to craft a spunky yet thoughtful spot that would become a “Love Letter to the Ad Industry”.

Drawing inspiration from Chuck Jones’ “The Dot and the Line” , I spearheaded the character design and facial animations. Meet KG (short for Knowledge Graph!) and her companion Skip (yes, like 'Skip this Ad…'). Their roles are inquisitive data scientists, guiding the audience through a fantastical world of analytics and turning complex data into an engaging adventure.
